Our Staff

We seek to find qualified and motivated staff that meet the needs of our students. Our teachers and tutors undergo an extensive selection process as well as background checks as a condition of employment. We wish to set our staff up for success just like our students by holding periodic professional development workshops covering various topics in education. In addition, we ensure that our staff are trained in basic adult and pediatric first aid and CPR/AED (minimum) through BLE’s First Aid, CPR, and Wilderness Medicine Program. Minimum qualifications for each position include:

Academic Tutor

• A strong GPA in college course work (Bachelor Degree/Teaching Credential preferred)
• Previous experience working with children ages 6+.
• Knowledge of relevant technology
• Basic Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR Certification
• Background Check

First Aid, CPR, and Wilderness Program Lead Instructor

• A strong GPA in college course work
• Previous experience working in the Emergency Services and Outdoor Industries
• Previous teaching experience
• Knowledge of relevant technology
• Minimum Certification Requirements:
  • Layperson Program:
    • Emergency Medical Response (a.k.a. First Responder)
    • BLS for Healthcare Providers
  • Professional Rescuer Program
    • EMT-Basic

• Instructor Certification From Recognized Certifying Agency

First Aid/CPR Program Assistant Instructor

• A strong GPA in college course work
