Together, we can save a life!

Nearly everyone will be involved in a crisis at some point in their  lives.  Someone falls and cannot get up. A person cuts themselves and the wound will not stop bleeding. Another person’s heart fails. You may come across a ski or car accident, your child may have ingested a poisonous substance, or a  child in your care takes a fall.  Knowing what to do in these situations can be the difference.

  • The brain can only survive 4-6 minutes without oxygen. Administering CPR buys the person extra time until professional rescuers arrive. The American Heart Association estimates that 100,000-200,000 lives could be saved yearly if CPR was administered early enough.
  • Knowledge of first aid promotes a healthy, secure, and safer environment. It instills confidence amongst people, their families, their colleagues, and their associates. It can help prevent a traumatic situation from getting worse.

Be the difference in someone’s life!

Location:

We are based in Mammoth Lakes, CA. We cater to all the surrounding areas in the Eastern Sierra (Mono and Inyo Counties) including but not limited to Bridgeport, Lee Vining, June Lake, Crowley Lake, Bishop, Big Pine, Independence, and Lone Pine.

Instructor to Student Ratio:

We feel that a low student to instructor ratio is the key to maximized learning in the classroom. Thus, we keep a maximum 12 to 1 instructor to student ratio. Oftentimes, our ratios are less.

Wilderness Emergency Care Program

What is Wilderness Emergency Care (WEC)? The WEC program is one that trains and certifies people to cope with wilderness hazards and emergencies. While the focus of our training is on wilderness situations, the skills we teach can be used in urban emergencies as well. Think of urban emergency training as a special case of wilderness training, for situations where you have many more resources, and professional help is usually no more than 10 minutes away. However, if a major disaster disrupts emergency services and cuts you off from urban resources, then for the purposes of emergency care you are in a wilderness situation. Our WEC courses appeal not only to those who do wilderness activities, but also to those who want to prepare for disasters and to anyone who wants more thorough and intensive training than our urban-oriented courses offer. In these courses, we train people to critically think and improvise with whatever they have or can find at the scene.
